I'm shook
I got micro needling and radio frequency there, within a few days I could see my skin texture and tightness improve, I'm shook at the results!! Not to mention she's a lovely person and so professional, can't wait to book my next treatment in.

What is a chemical peel? Gentle acids, real renewal.
A chemical peel is a professional-strength blend of exfoliating acids applied to clean skin for a set time, then neutralised or removed. It lifts dull surface cells and speeds up your skin's renewal, so over a course pigmentation, acne marks and rough texture look softer and your skin looks brighter. Modern peels are far gentler than their reputation: many leave no visible peeling at all.
Is a peel right for you? For tone, clarity and texture.
You'll love it if
- Dark spots or sun damage make your skin look uneven.
- Old acne marks stay long after the spots have gone.
- Your skin breaks out, looks congested or feels oily by lunchtime.
- Your skin looks dull, and you want brightness that lasts longer than a facial.
Not right now if
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding. While breastfeeding, a gentle facial is an option: ask us.
- You have taken isotretinoin in the last 6 months.
- You have sunburn, a fresh tan, broken skin, an active cold sore or eczema in the area.
- You have used retinol, acids or had waxing on your face in the last few days (we will tell you the exact gap).
Not sure? Your 10-minute consultation is free, or book a full Skin Consultation for a skin scan and plan. This is general guidance, not medical advice.

We check your skin, your products and your health history, and choose the peel.
Prepare
Stop retinol and exfoliating acids a few days before, as advised. No waxing on the face for a week.
Cleanse
Your skin is cleansed and prepared.
Peel
The peel goes on in layers. You may feel warmth, tingling or a short itch, timed and watched the whole way.

The next days
Skin may feel tight or flake lightly for 2 to 5 days, depending on the peel.
Next session
Usually 2 to 4 weeks later, for a course of 3 to 6.
Before and after your peel A little prep, an easy recovery.
Before your appointment

Chemical peel questions Straight answers, before you book.
How much is a chemical peel in Ireland?
At Mirabell, chemical peels start from €90 per session. Medik8 peels start from €100 and BioRePeel from €100. Course prices are shown above.
Will my skin peel afterwards?
Often only a little, or not at all. Gentle peels may show no flaking; stronger ones can flake lightly for 2 to 5 days. We tell you what to expect before you book.
How many peels do I need?
Usually a course of 3 to 6, 2 to 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every month or two. One peel brightens; a course makes the real change.
Hydrofacial or chemical peel: which is better?
A hydrofacial is gentle maintenance: cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate with no downtime. A peel is more targeted correction for pigmentation, acne marks and texture. Many women alternate them.
Can I have a peel if I have sensitive skin?
Often yes. The Medik8 Universal / Sensitive Peel is made for sensitive and first-time skin. Tell us about any reactions at consultation.
Is a carbon peel a chemical peel?
No. A carbon peel uses a carbon mask and a laser, with no acids. It suits oily skin and enlarged pores, and needs a patch test 48 hours before.
Can peels help acne?
They can help clear congestion and improve the look of acne marks over a course. They do not cure acne. For ongoing breakouts, our Acne Therapy Facial may suit you better.
