Why your eyes look tired It is usually the skin.
The skin under your eyes is among the thinnest on your body. With time, stress, screens and sun, it loses hydration and collagen, so it looks crepey, shadows look darker and concealer settles into lines. Our under-eye treatments work on that skin: they support hydration, thickness and quality, so the area looks brighter and more rested. Dark circles from genetics or deep hollows may only improve partly, and we will tell you that honestly.
Are under-eye treatments right for you? For eyes that always look tired.
You'll love it if
- People ask if you are tired, even after a full night's sleep.
- Your concealer creases and never looks smooth.
- The skin under your eyes looks thin, crepey or a little dark.
- You want a fresher look without changing your face.
Not right now if
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have an eye or skin infection, a stye or a cold sore near the area.
- Vitaran only: you have a fish or seafood allergy. Polynucleotides come from purified fish DNA (usually salmon).
- Collaju only: you have ever reacted to a collagen treatment or product, or you have an allergy to animal (bovine) protein. Collaju is made from purified animal collagen, so we may suggest a small test area first.
- You take blood thinners, have a bleeding disorder, or for PRP / PRF: a blood or platelet condition.
- Your puffiness changes a lot day to day: tell us, as it may need your GP first.

Consultation
We look at your eye area, your skin and your health history, and choose the option.
Your plan
Number of sessions and spacing agreed upfront, with clear course prices.
Prepare
Make-up removed, skin cleansed, numbing cream on. For PRP / PRF, a small blood sample is taken in clinic and prepared while you wait.
Treatment
Tiny amounts are placed in the skin. It feels like quick pinches.
Straight after
Small bumps, mild swelling or bruising are normal and usually settle within 1 to 3 days.
Next session
Usually 2 to 4 weeks later, depending on the option.
Before and after under-eye treatment A little prep, an easy recovery.
Before your appointment
- Do: Book at least a week before a big event, as the skin here is thin and bruises easily.
- Avoid: Pause aspirin, ibuprofen and supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo and garlic capsules, if you take them yourself rather than on a doctor's advice.
- Avoid: No alcohol.
- Do: Wear your glasses rather than contact lenses, if you can.
- Do: PRP / PRF: eat a normal meal and drink plenty of water, as we take a small blood sample.

Under-eye questions Straight answers, before you book.
What is the best treatment for tired-looking eyes?
It depends on why they look tired. For thin, crepey skin, Vitaran polynucleotides are our most popular choice. For dryness, RRS HA hyaluronic mesotherapy. We choose with you at consultation.
Can you get rid of dark circles?
We can often make them look lighter by improving the skin, but genetic pigmentation and deep shadows rarely disappear fully. We are honest about what is realistic for you.
How much is under-eye treatment in Dublin?
At Mirabell, under-eye treatments start from €80 per session, with polynucleotides from €150. Course prices are shown above.
How many sessions do I need?
Usually 2 to 4 sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart, then a top-up once or twice a year. It depends on the option and your skin.
Does it hurt?
Most clients feel quick pinches. Numbing cream goes on first. Most appointments take 25 to 30 minutes, PRP / PRF about 50.
Will I bruise?
Some women do, because the skin is so thin. Small bumps and any bruising usually settle in 1 to 3 days. Book at least a week before a big event.
What is PRP / PRF under the eyes?
A small blood sample is taken in clinic and spun to separate the platelet-rich part, which is then placed under the skin. Nothing is added from outside your body.
What is Collaju, and is it safe if I have allergies?
Collaju is a collagen booster for thin under-eye skin, made from purified type I animal collagen. It does not add volume. Tell us about any allergies, especially to collagen or animal protein. If you have a history of allergies, we may suggest a small test area first.
