Before your appointment
- Do: If you take blood-thinning medicine, tell us and check with your doctor. Never stop prescribed medicine on your own.
- Do: Book at least 2 weeks before a wedding, holiday or big event, so any swelling or bruising has settled.
- Avoid: Leave 2 weeks between dental work, a vaccine or other injectable treatments in your lips and your filler.
- Avoid: Pause aspirin, ibuprofen and supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo and garlic capsules, if you take them yourself rather than on a doctor's advice.
- Do: If you get cold sores, ask your GP or pharmacist about antiviral cover.
- Avoid: No alcohol.

How long does lip filler swelling last?
Swelling is strongest on day 1 to 2 and settles over about two weeks. Some clients bruise. Book at least two weeks before a big event.
0.5ml or 1ml lip filler: which should I choose?
0.5ml gives a subtle lift and suits most first-timers, and it is what our from price covers. 1ml gives a fuller look or more correction. We help you choose at your consultation, based on your lips, not a number.
Does lip filler migrate?
It can, usually when lips are over-filled or the filler is placed badly. We reduce the risk by using sensible amounts, placing filler precisely and building volume over time if you want more.
What is the aftercare for lip filler?
No lip products for 24 hours, and no alcohol, heat, gym or pressure on your lips for 24 to 48 hours. Use a cold compress for swelling. Your shape settles at around two weeks.
Is a review appointment included?
Yes, if you would like one. We see you a few weeks after treatment to check how your lips have settled, at no extra cost.
Can I have lip blush as well?
Yes. Most clients have lip blush first and wait until it has fully healed, usually 4 to 6 weeks, before filler. If you already have filler, we usually wait at least 4 weeks before lip blush.
